Expand uses browser storage to keep you signed in and preserve your work. The current app does not install advertising or analytics cookies.
Cookies and similar storage
A cookie is one way a site can save information in your browser. Expand’s current sign-in uses session storage rather than an authentication cookie, and its notebook uses local storage. Both are browser storage and deserve the same clear explanation.

What is not installed
The current landing page and app have no advertising pixels, third-party analytics scripts or cross-site advertising cookies. These pages use local styling and do not load third-party fonts or embedded social widgets.
The optional support link opens a Stripe-hosted checkout, where Stripe may use its own cookies and similar storage for checkout, security and saved-payment features. No Stripe script is embedded in Expand. Opening other external provider links takes you to sites with their own storage practices. Email-provider processing is described separately in the Privacy Policy draft.
Your controls
Use Sign out to end app access. To remove local notebook copies and drafts, use your browser’s controls to clear site data for Expand. Those are different actions: signing out does not wipe stored notebook copies, and clearing browser data does not erase records already synced to your account.
Export important work first. Blocking browser storage can prevent sign-in or saving. Someone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to inspect local records even when the app is signed out.
Future changes
This draft does not establish a legal determination about which consent rules apply. The current service has no optional advertising or analytics category to enable. If additional storage tools are introduced, this explanation and any applicable choices will need to be updated before use.
